Forgiveness is the Divine nectar that heals all wounds, it is liberating and brings happiness.
Forgiving is remembering, we are reminded about directing our thoughts towards loving intentions and behaviour. We choose for the release and freedom of those we have forgiven.

The Lamplighter

Here to the leisured side of life,
Remote from traffic, free from strife,
A cul-de-sac, a sanctuary
Where old quaint customs creep to die
And only ancient memories stir,
At evening comes the lamplighter;
With measured steps, without a sound,
He treads the unalterable round,
Soundlessly touching one by one
The waiting posts that stand to take
The faint blue bubbles in his wake;
And when the night begins to wane
He comes to take them back again,
Before the chilly dawn can blight
The delicate frail buds of light.

UNICEF, taking responsability for our children.

As an infant I was the pride and joy of my parents, it was only later that they began to worry about me! I insisted on driving a perfectly good motorcycle on one wheel and launching myself off mountain tops with only a flimsy piece of fabric as a vehicle.

I am grateful to my parents, they provided me with every thing I needed and much more I was fortunate to have a happy childhood.

I find it tragic to learn that one child under the age of 5 years old dies every 3 seconds from preventable causes.
Studies by The World Health Organization indicate that diarrhea, contracted from unclean water kills more children than AIDS, malaria and measles combined.

Two thirds of infant deaths can be avoided by simple and cheap methods! It is a right for all children to have access to basic necessities. A name and nationality, clean drinking water, food, education, medical care and protection.

UNICEF supports and lobbys for the rights of the child, helping them to get a good start in life, develop and get a school education.
The priority being the poorest and most disadvantaged populations.

UNICEF gives structural help as well as emergency aid.
In exceptional emergency situations protected areas are created in which children are cared for so they will not be further abused or exploited.

With over 60 years of experience and with a presence in more than 200 countries UNICEF plays a significant role in the group of international organisations having a clear insight into the many obstacles facing the well being of millions children.

UNICEF is funded entirely through voluntary contributions and thanks to a wide variety of partners, UNICEF is able to realise the most innovative ideas for tackling the most difficult challenges on a global scale.

A large part of what UNICEF does is to identify problems in a particular area, then using its expertise in partnership with local government, NGO’s, women’s organisations, local leaders and youth movements, supply them with the means to improve their situation.

UNICEF works around the world to improve water supplies, sanitation facilities and promotes safe hygiene practices in schools and communities. One month after the earthquake in Haiti, UNICEF and partners were already supplying over 900 000 people with clean water and building thousands of toilets and showers throughout the affected areas.

UNICEF initiates and endorses campaigns to reduce mortality rates related to diarrhea diseases by…. handwashing with soap.

Hand washing with soap, especially before preparing food and after using the toilet, is one of the most cost-effective interventions for reducing child death and has been shown to reduce the incidence of diarrheal disease by over 40 percent.

A staggering 1.9 million children die every year of diarrhea.

Though most episodes of childhood diarrhea are mild, acute cases can lead to significant fluid loss and dehydration. This dehydration can lead to death unless fluids are quickly replaced.

A little packet of rehydration salts is another simple, inexpensive and lifesaving remedy that prevents dehydration in children suffering from diarrhea. When mixed with clean water and taken orally it helps to rehydrate the body, that is help it retain water.

Costing only 5 cents to manufacture this little packet replaces expensive intravenous treatments and can help to save a life.

Supporters of UNICEF and other recognised help/relief organisations are encouraged to give a modest monthly amount as opposed to donating one off gifts. Most certainly all contributions are gratefully received but having a regular income allows UNICEF to plan more efficiently and have the funds and equipment on hand when disaster strikes, enabling them to respond immediately to emergencies.
Secondly the Belgian government (de Overheid as it affectionately known) subsidises UNICEF and other charitable causes based on the number of supporting members, the more members the more is given.
And thirdly, the more regular paying god mothers and fathers there are, gives UNICEF more leverage when lobbying for the rights of children.

Some years ago I signed up to be a godfather of UNICEF’s children,
It is good to know that even with a modest monthly amount, packets of rehydration salts are being distributed to hundreds of needy children per month.

A small amount for a big impact.

The Importance of Thought Management.

Imagine a beautiful nature scene. Up on your left is a waterfall which tumbles down into a crystal clear pool before forming a stream which flows past you. You are surrounded by lush vegetation, a variety of colourful flora and graced by the cheerful twitter of bird song. A little further on you see a flat rock jutting out over the pool. You saunter over and take a seat. Amazingly the rock is soft like a satin cushion and takes the shape of your body contours. You feel at peace and completely content. There is no where else you would rather be.

Dear friends. What I would like to illustrate here are the workings of the mind. In this example we have taken charge of our thoughts by way of imagination to bring about desirable conditions. This is a particularly important point as it is the world within, that is your thoughts, feelings, emotions and mental imagery that creates your outer world.

Therefore, to remove discord, confusion, lack, fear, worry, limitation, regret, anger you must remove the cause. And the cause is the way you are thinking and picturing in your mind.

Our mind posseses three distinctive characteristics, the conscious, the subconscious mind and superconscious mind.

The most important conscious mind function is the power to decide. It decides what information is allowed to enter into your subconscious mind, and programs your subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind has no reasoning and follows the choices, decisions and dictates of the conscious mind.
The subconscious mind maintains and balances the well-being of your body.
It is the seat of your psychic abilities.
Furthermore it is a memory bank that stores all your thoughts, feelings emotions, imaginings, habit patterns, experiences, impulses and desires.

The superconscious mind is also known as The Higher self, Infinite Intelligence or the Universal Mind and is your Master Guide.
The superconscious mind is all knowing, all wise and all powerful.
It has the solution to all problems and knows no limits.

The superconscious mind is accessed through the subconscious mind.
By impressing your goal upon your subconscious mind, your superconscious will respond accordingly and everything will be set in motion to help you achieve your desire—any desire.

When our three minds work harmoniously then the conscious mind masters the subconscious mind and uses the superconscious mind for guidance and advice.

Dear friends it is essential that you take charge of managing your thoughts and be vigilant as to what thoughts you entertain and allow to enter your subconscious mind as to bring forth only desirable conditions. By taking control of your thought processes you can apply the power of your subconscious mind to any problem or difficulty and thereby consciously co-operate with Infinite Intelligence and the omnipotent laws which governs all things.

Infinite Intelligence through your subconscious mind can reveal to you everything you need to know everywhere and at any time.

All your experiences, events, conditions and acts are the reactions of your subconscious mind to your thoughts.

When meeting a new group of people How many of you have heard or even said “I’m really bad at remembering peoples names?”
The conscious mind effectively sets up the subconscious mind to forget.

Whereas if you say I am really good at remembering peoples names and have a real desire to do so, you set the subconscious mind the task of finding a way to be brilliant at remembering peoples names. It only takes a slight adjustment in your thinking to bring about substantial positive change.

The subconcious mind continually attracts and repels things according to how it has been programmed.
Think wise thoughts, loving thoughts, positive thoughts of achievement and gradeur
A changed attitude changes everything. Be enthusiastic, believe in yourself and in your hidden powers and wonders will happen in your life.
